New Seed of the Year
For the past two weeks we have been getting our new crop of clam seed from the hatchery and putting them out in nursery trays on our growing area. These babies will spend the summer growing in the trays protected from all the crabs, birds and fish that would gobble them up if left on the open flats. This bucket contains 100,000 little clams. Barb and Sara are putting a cup full, about 3,300 in each sand filled nursery tray. Eat plankton and grow young clam and one day you will be a littleneck!
