Busy in the Nursery

We have been getting the nursery trays ready for the seed clams that we get from the hatchery.   The tiny clams need protection from predators so we put them in fine mesh trays filled with sand.   Each bucket pictured here contains many thousands of seed clams.     When the tide is in the trays are submerged and the clams feed on phytoplankton and grow.
